Editing blog: Vaseline commercial
I begun editing my commercial on November 2nd. Before I started to edit the commercial, I thought about how I want it to look. I edited everything on my iPhone on iMovie. Due to me editing on my phone, I encountered problems such as me not having enough storage. I also encountered a WIFI issue causing it to lag a few times. When I first started to edit, I realized that the commercial may go over 30 seconds. This is when I started to do my best to shorten each scene as much as possible. I shortened the 4th scene the most which led to it being a little under 5 seconds. The rest of the scenes is where I trimmed out the parts where I either told stop my sister to stop recording or asked if she had started yet. I didn't have any words in the commercial and I wanted it to be more intriguing so I started to add back ground music. The background music took a minute to find but once I found the right one I applied to throughout the entire video. I also debated about adding a voiceover at the end of the commercial. In most Vaseline commercials, there is a voiceover so I decided to also do one. Although I had to redo the voiceover over a few times, it was quite easy. Since I decided to also add a slogan, I wondered if I should put it at the bottom of the last scene or add a background with only the slogan and the products showing. Since it is due tomorrow I am still deciding. If I have enough time left to add it by itself I will. If not I will have to stop the background music during the last few seconds of the scene and apply the slogan there. All in all, the editing process was very fun for me. It also helped me get better at a few things such as applying transitions.
