Production Blog: Where are we now



Hi. It’s me again, Maiyah. You’re probably wondering where we are with filming now. Turns out, we’re in the same place. I thought by now we would have started but time has proven me wrong. In the last couple of blogs I had a hope of us starting soon but school can be quite stressful. Grades are close to closing and my group and I are trying to catch up the best we can. Especially me. We each are taking at least 2 AICE classes and oh boy. We all are quite slammed. Although we are slammed, we do know this course is important and plan to keep it on our to-do list. I don’t know when we will start but it should be soon. I hope it’s soon. Though we didn’t start filming yet, we have discussed first aid. Being that covid-19 is still around we do plan on taking safety precautions when we do start filming. We will wear masks when we’re bit filming and try to stay six feet apart. We have also discussed what will be done if our original plans don’t fall through. For instance, if one person cant come the day we assigned for filming, we will just film the parts they aren’t in or reschedule. Well, that’s all I really got for now. Hopefully i’ll have more by the next blog. I hope the stress from school dies down. Kind of ironic how our film is sort of about school and the stress it causes. At least i’ll be able to play my part well! Laugh out Loud.

Production Blog: Beginning of editing

 Hi, it’s me, Maiyah. Well, we’ve finished filming and now we’re unto editing. The group decided to edit using Imovie. I have used it before and other members of the group have used it too.  I haven’t edited a part yet but i have giving my input on how it should be edited. One of my suggestions was to add non-diegetic music to a certain part of the film instead of using diegetic sound. I’ve suggested other things. The whole group had. I can’t quite remembers who’s doing the bulk of the editing but i believe it’s Ryeyauni. Although she’s doing most of it, we all will contribute. Roy will contribute by offering advice on which music we should use and by offering some music of his own. Aniya will contribute by offering suggestions and helping with the editing. I will contribute by doing the same thing. I will see to it that I edit one specific part because I have envisioned how i want it so i believe it’ll be best if i edit it myself. This was my first film project ever. Due to it being my first I was very excited. I ran into many problems that I never would have thought occurred. For example, uploading this video. As I type this I have no idea on how to upload it because everything I am trying is not working. Hopefully when you are reading this, it will be visible😂. On a serious note, I feel as if this project has taught me a lot when it comes to being both the director and the cast. It has also taught me a lot about editing and filming. Before I started this project I had little to no knowledge on filming my own commercial. Moving forward, I feel that the next filming project I do will be even better. Although this project could have been done better, I believe that I did a nice job for it to be my first time. During the whole process many things had to be changed. Planning for final task: Title design

Planning Blog Font: Title font for our group will be bolded in impact font while the other titles are heltivica font  Contrast: All the titles will be white with a back outline/ our movie titles will be a large focused font size that is clear and readable to the audience, while the other title credits will be medium sized, around the font size of 48. Spacing: The default spacing is the spacing that will be used to display all of our titles, and enhance  Working Title: Our title for our movie will be "Too Much" The first scene of the movie when the main character is being recognized inside of their room waking up to get ready for online school is when the Title will emerge across the screen from a diagonal point crossing the screen and moving side ways at a steady paste Slowly after that you will see the other titles come in and out of the screen distinctly and appear and disappear as the intro continues.
